About Our Ministry

Rodgers Creative Movement for Christ is a non-profit, Christian dance organization dedicated to serving God, our churches, as well as our surrounding communities. But more importantly, we are very committed to training up our future generations in the way of the Lord (Provevbs 22:6).     

We believe the spiritual significance of praise dancing is to openly express the move of God in which the Holy Spirit is given liberty to freely flow through the very essence of His people. And during this last-day harvest, God is seeking people who will worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). Rodgers Creative Movement for Christ was founded on July 31, 1989 by Narda C. Cooper with the above spiritually profound concepts in mind. 


We started our mission with only three students in the home of  Narda’s beloved mother, the late Mrs. Kate Shirley Rodgers (pictured right), who was also our ministry’s sponsor. 

It was then that Narda began to teach praise and worship through song and dance. Pictured below are our three original students/members.

Within three months of prayer, vigorous training and hard work, Rodgers Creative Movement for Christ began reaching out and ministering to the surrounding community by performing at various churches and community centers throughout the city of Philadelphia. Upon success, Narda was inspired by God to encourage more dancers to join Rodgers Creative Movement for Christ to help expand the ministry and to help make a difference in the church and neighboring communities. 

In 1993, Narda also created and directed a second dance ministry called; P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happen) at Sharon Baptist Church, in Philadelphia, Pa., under the guidance and blessings of her former pastor; Keith W. Reed Sr. 

So many wonderful things have been happening for us since we started Rodgers Creative Movement for Christ in 1989. Today, some 23 years and about 25 children later, ages 4 to 16, Rodgers Creative Movement for Christ is currently receiving opportunities to perform and bless God's people throughout the Tri-state area (PA, DE and NJ) by way of song and dance. We are also blessed to donate scholarship funds to two of our adopted schools in the community so that these schools are able to award their most outstanding student of the year. Today, Narda C. Cooper (our Ministry Director) is currently assisted by her daughter Nakia A. Jones (our Dance Ministry Choreographer) who recently graduated from DeSales University with a Bachelor's Degree in Dance.

    Our over all goal and mission regarding our young people are as follows:

    1) - Teach, instruct, guide, and train our young people to minister (by way of dance) with a God-given purpose, and to present their bodies as living sacrifices.

    2) - Teach our young people how to remain humble and how to develop (on their own) biblical interpretations of spiritual worship through dance as being part of their own personal relationship with God and not solely for the praises and awards of man. 

   3) -  Teach our young people how to remain focus with regards to God's vision and purpose for their lives.

   4) - Teach our young people how to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. 

                                             And finally....

   5)- Teach our young people how to deliver "inspirational healing" to mentally, emotionally and more importantly, spiritually wounded individuals through Creative (dance) Movements!

    In closing - We truly thank and praise God for all of our wonderful parents, sponsors, supporters and followers, because without either of you there will be no us!

   We strongly believe there's a great deal of spiritual influence in movement, simply because movement have the power to stir the spiritual senses and emotions, as well as convey a very powerful message that cannot be expressed through words and or music alone.
